headlessness

Is anyone familiar with this approach to nonduality? It's called "The Headless Way."

www.headless.org/English/main.html (a very nice page audio, video, and exercises)

Douglas Harding is, or was a very interesting cat (I believe he's still alive but has Alzheimer's), I think. I've never been able quite to wrap my brain around his ideas but lately I've found myself thinking about them, especially the main one (no head).

i posted this along time ago when i was somebody else. heh heh. anyway, last night i went to see this guy moki www.freewatersangha.org/introf...ter.htm . he's an adyashanti guy, into ken wilbur and some other stuff so he's not strictly a nondualist. but he is articulate, after a fashion, and good at getting to the point. there was, i think, a deepening in my understanding, and more specifically, in regards to the original post here, i think i finally got what doug harding was talking about regarding 'headlessness.' none of us actually ever see our heads, maybe a bit of the nose, or the upper lip if you jut it out just so, at least that's my experience. and of course if you close your eyes what's there? nothing but sensations, and thoughts, and of course consciousness. the sensations and thoughts come and go but consciousness is what remains. pretty simple, actually, don't know why that was so hard to get. go figure.

other observations re moki. it seems like the adya people are into this idea that awakening can be gradual. there's an opening and then there's more. it can take awhile. according to this idea someone like myself who's had just a taste is awakened. interesting but i don't buy it. another thing too. moki goes on about relative truth. for whatever reason this is a real turn off for me. i found myself getting up and leaving right at nine. but ya' know i just might go back if for no other reason than he's not a nazi about donating and there's a forty minute meditation before the talk. sitting with other people is nice. sitting in the evening is a little painful physically but i do enjoy it. anyway that's enough about that. cheers! all.
